Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Last night was my third visit to Jahna's and I have thoroughly enjoyed each meal there. My first visit was with my husband several months ago. I had a steak covered in mushrooms and he had the chefs special shrimp dish. Both were delicious, my steak was cooked perfectly (med rare), and very tender...the best steak I have eaten in central Arkansas. The cannoli was awesome, not too sweet like so many are. Second visit was a month ago with my daughter in law and her mom. I ordered the chefs shrimp (after trying my husband's from my first visit I wanted more!), my daughter in law had the chefs chicken and her mom tried the steak. Once again, everything was wonderful. My third visit to Jahna's was with my husband, our son and his wife last night. I was celebrating my birthday and honestly couldn't have picked a better place. We all shared the appetizer of clams and it was scrumptious! Most of the sauce was even consumed. I had the lobster ravioli and oh my.... So good! My husband and daughter in law both had steak and my son had the orange roughy. We all tasted each others entrees and all were excellent. Our waiter brought a slice of Italian cream cake to me with a candle in it for my birthday and we all agreed that it was by far the best Italian cream cake ever tasted. The service at Jahna's is excellent, all the staff are friendly and helpful and we never have to ask for refills on water or bread. And did I mention their bread is good? And the pesto with the bread, yum! If you have not been to Jahna's yet...... GO! You will see what I am raving about and won't regret it!

well appointed chic elegance that surprises the strip mall exterior. Very attentive and friendly staff. Nice wine list. Mostly traditional Italian menu with steaks and a few extras. For appetizer, we shared crab and shrimp stuffed Portobello. It was delicious and surrounded in very rich creamy cheese sauce . I had chicken Marcella that was amazing. My husband had chicken Florentine. Equally yummy in another rich sauce. Unfortunately, We didn't have room for canollis or tarimasu. Worth the drive. I'd definitely go back.

We just ate there recently. Staff was very attentive. Food was great. I'd prefer to have warm bread instead of cold but dipping sauce was great. Decor is very eye catching and elegant. Owners were helping and serving making it a pleasant dining experience.

There are mixed reviews on here, but seeing as it had an overall high rating, we thought we'd give it a try. The food was just meh. I had the steak special which was covered in a heavy Gorgonzola butter sauce. Tasted more like a cream sauce. It wasn't great. I wouldn't order it again. My boyfriend had the lamb chop special. They were dry and cold. The Creme brûlée for desert was terrible. (The fried goat cheese for the appetizer was awful) The service was average. A manager stopped by the table next to us, asked how everything was. Walked up to our table, saw we had only taken a bite of the Creme brûlée, grabbed the check with my card in it off the table and didn't say a word to us. We are spending 9 more days in the area, but we won't be back

I've given very good ratings in the past but this time I had the filet with Gorgonzola sauce and a crab cake. Too much sauce my meat disappeared. I will say it was cooked divine and our waiter was excellent. But the side dishes were an afterthought. Sliced carrots, sliced onion and a little broccoli all steamed together making for a pile of " what the hell is on my plate"? also a side of mashed potato. I know they can do better so was really put off for the price I paid but we will go back.

This place was amazing. We had the filet mignon, which practically melted I'm our mouths. The ambiance was fun and funky. The waitstaff was great.

In town for Memorial Day weekend and a friend recommended Jahnas. I was skeptical about finding good Italian food in this part of Hot Springs, but Jahnas was a gem. The service was outstanding, the wine list was surprisingly good (any place with Far Niente on the menu gets an extra star in my book), and the food was really good. The sauces on the pasta were a bit heavy and a little too salty, but a good wine will cut through a sauce any time and a great waiter will focus your attention to the highlights. That's what happened here. The sum was definitely greater than the parts.

In AR for a week and needed a good place to celebrate my husband's birthday. Jahnas was a recommendation from a couple from Dallas TX that we met on the golf course. Having a home in Hot Springs Village we are in AR a few times a year and there is a distinct lack of decent restaurants that are not in the fast food category. We made a reservation for the five of us at 7pm on a Tuesday night. We arrived in a torrential downpour and were amazed at the sometimes intruding drumming of the rain on the tin roof but soothed by the beautiful safari decor and peaceful atmosphere. We ordered drinks and appetizers to start. The house Zin, house Merlot and House Pinot Grigio were superb. The seafood stuffed portabello was a nice blend of shellfish, veggies and white sauce. The breading on the fried calamari was unspectacular but the sauce was nice, disappointing that it grew cold so quickly. As a group we ordered the cheese manicotti which was a bit too salty. The 8 oz filet, ordered Pittsburgh, was PERFECT but both the chopped portabellos and the vegetables that accompanied it were sprinkled with way too much garlic salt making them virtually inedible. The Fettuccine Alfredo with chicken was also over spiced and the garlic overpowering but edible. The spicy spaghetti with meatballs was awesome and very reasonably priced at only $12. The generous portion of vegetable lasagna was very good and only $11. The deserts we had were the tiramisu (contained no brandy so not really authentic) and the chocolate torte with raspberries and cream. Our resident tiramisu expert rated it a 4/10 and the torte rated 9/10 unanimously. All in all it was very good. We will be back when we are next in town. The total bill came to $157 before tip for the 5 of us with several glasses of wine. Not a bad price, good food and finally a restaurant in the area that is open past 8pm! They will seat you until 10~

I was in recently while staying in Hot Springs for a few days. First I must say that the decor is eyecatching (red, black, zebra, crystal lights, mosaic sconces) and the artwork is amazing and beautiful! I sadly can't remember the artist's name but there are 5 or 6 large painted portraits of wild animals - giraffe, elephant, panther & leopard, lions, and an orangutan. I would've taken photos but I didn't want to disturb other patrons. The music was upbeat and both current and popular 80/90's. This is not your typical Italian restaurant, but the food - mama mia! We ordered 3 generously portioned entrees and ended up sharing/tasting each others. Lasagna, chicken parm, and eggplant parm - I'd have to say all were absolutely delicious but the chicken parm was my favorite! I had a nice glass of Reisling and we nibbled on herbed bread while waiting on our entrees, which were delivered much quicker than expected. We had heard that the cannoli was some of the best, so it was devastating when dessert time came and we were told that they were out! The manager/owner (very handsome gentleman! lol) came over and apologized personally and explained that they get the cannoli cream FROM ITALY and the shipment was running behind. His brother also has a restaurant in town that serves cannoli but they get it from the same supplier so that was a no go too! I had been looking forward to enjoying a cannoli all day and after having a fantastic dinner, what a bummer! My aunt, who lives in the area, jokingly asked if she could buy a bag/container of the cream once it comes in and ship it to me. lol I wouldn't talk her out of it if she was serious. I would definitely recommend this impressive restaurant for folks looking for authentic Italian food and want to try something different than the run of the mill "Olive Garden" type places. Jahna's won't disappoint - service is fast, friendly, and genuine, atomosphere is unique, very nice menu selection, and the food was incredible. If you go, have a cannoli and let me know how it was! lol If/when I return to the Hot Springs area, I will certainly suggest we have dinner there at least once.

What a wonderful surprise in an out of the way place. Beautiful ambiance, attentive service and wonderful food!,,

A treat! Univiting on the outside. Warm and romantic inside. Opened in December, but still packed every night. Make a reservation. We tried the veal marsala and chicken parmesan. The veal was as tender and flavorful as I've had anywhere. The chicken parmesan didn't disappoint. Paired with Le Crema pinot noir (attractively priced) - yum!

We've been to Jahnas now two times. Great food, service, and atmosphere on both occasions. We live in Little Rock and not that Little Rock is the standard-bearer for nice restaurants in AR, but Jahnas would fit in and be busy in a West Little Rock type setting too. In other words, we liked it enough that we would be frequent repeat customers if it were in LR!
